Dear fellow Clinch Countians and visitors:
On behalf of the Clinch County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to the Clinch County Chamber of Commerce web site. We hope that you find the information on this site helpful, whether you're a life-long Clinch Countian, a newcomer to our community, or someone who just wants to know more about Clinch County.
- Completion of the Suwannee River Visitor's Center and construction of the Eco-Lodge building
- The Suwannee River Visitor's Cener opened this past year in Fargo, and construction is set to begin soon on the adjacent Eco-Lodge and cabins. Tourism officials estimate that the new facilities will bring hundreds of thousands of tourists to Fargo and Clinch County a year, and we are looking forward to hosting these visitors and the positive economic impact it willhave for our citizens.
- Industrial & Business Expansion - Recently, many of our local industries have announced plans to expand
or hire more employees. For example, Bway and Palmetto Trails both have seen an increase in job creation, and Lee Container is utilitzing the Dollar General building in their expansion plans. We have also welcomed a number of retail businesses in the past year, and hope to have more retail growth in our county in the coming year.
- The four-laning of Highways 84 and 441 - All around Clinch County, change is evident on our roads, as the
process to four-lane Highways 84 and 441 is in full swing inside the Homerville city limits. Plans call for the four- lanings to be complete inside Homerville by the end of the year. The chamber plans to work with the City of Homerville's Better Hometown program on a number of projects to improve downtown Homerville. The city's "Streetscape" project will be under way toward the end of this year, with improvements to downtown Homerville's landscaping, parking and lighting. A "brick paver" campaign, where people can purchase bricks in downtown Homerville, is also currently under way. The Chamber is also working on improving our website in an effort to promote the county.
With all of the above going on, and a promising furture in front of us, the Chamber of Commerce truly finds that we have a "honey of a place to live."
